Kokrobite

So my weekend was fantastic. We went to Kokrobite beach saturday morning after a nasty breakfast that I couldn't eat. (plantains).. they are pretty gross, especially fried. Anyways, we took the trotro to Kasoa and bought some fan ice. Fan ice is the greatest thing here.. the vanilla icecream one is my favourite. They also have chocolate ones and strawberry yogurt ones that they sell on the streets. It's funny how everyone just runs up to the window of the vehicle your in to ask if you want anything.. pretty convenient. We took a trotro straight from Kasoa to Kokrobite and walked down to this italien guys place called Kokrobite Gardens which is where we stayed. It was Kelsie, Stephano, Jimmy, Obi, Christof, Samir and me. The place that we stayed was really nice with lots of trees everywhere. We stayed in little bungaloos, Kelsie and I shared a room. It had 2 beds and we got the room with a flushing toilet and shower, wahooooo!!! The boys rooms were a little bigger with queen size beds. Right when we got there we grabbed lunch at the restaurant. This is the really good restaurant we came to once before. Kelsie and I shared a yummy salami pizza and tropical salad. It was soooo nice not to have chicken and rice! After lunch we went down to the beach. We sat up on this balcony type thing overlooking the ocean just relaxing. The place is called Big Milleys. We also got dessert here.. apple pie with vanilla icecream but I'm pretty sure it wasn't apple pie.. The beach was amazing, we went swimming because the waves aren't as big as at fete beach. There are fishing boats all across the beach that are long and very colourful. It is cool to see the boats come back to the shore. Kelsie and I held one of the fishes. There are also many little shops along the beach, lots of rasta stuff because all the Rastafarians live here. We went back to the place we were staying and showered and then waited for dinner. For dinner I had a sandwich and salad and Kelsie ate a whole pizza to herself.. we ate a lot of food on the weekend because we eat the same thing every day and we crave so much food. Oh ya we all also had chocolate cake for dessert. After dinner we went down to Big Milleys because there was a party going on. There was a reggae band playing.. they were really good.. I love the Bob Marley songs. We bought a drink and went back up to the balcony we usually sit on. A rastafarian that we met earlier that day was there and Jimmy, Kelsie and I got stuck talking to him for about 4 hours. We did dance a bit which was really fun though. It was such a fun night. On sunday we went back to the beach to hang out until about 2 and then we said our goodbyes to Stephano. His flight left at 9 back to London. Kelsie and I might meet up with him on our way home when we stop for the night there. Jimmy is in Accra for the week, we are going there tomorrow for pizza and a movie with him to say bye. I will miss him a lot! It's sad to see other volunteers go. My teaching is going great, I will probably be in the classroom every day now and today I gave the kids their math and science midterms because I think they have a holiday coming up. Romeo was sick last night so I took care of him for most of the night until he fell asleep on me. We talked to our friend Beatrice who is 15 for a lot of the night too. I think Kelsie and I are taking her and 2 of the boys to the beach this weekend. I'm running out of time on the computer so I miss you all! Talk to you soon
