Hey everyone, so Kelsie and I are in Accra now. The flights here weren't too bad other then when we realized that we had to switch planes in London within 20 minutes. It was basically like we were on the amazing race. We had to run and take 2 transit trains, we barely made it! It was stressful to say the least. We got to Accra and we didn't think that any of our bags were going to make it here but somehow 2 of them did. One being my bag, and the other was one of the bags filled with stuff for the kids. Poor kelsie.. After that nonsense we met the 2 guys that were picking us up. They are super nice! We took a cab to their house and were given our own section of the house. It's kind of like an apartment style place. We are on the 3rd floor and it is pretty nice. We went straight to bed after getting settled in because neither of us slept much on the plane. We woke up at about 6 because the sun comes out pretty early here and the roosters are really annoying.. There is also a train nearby us that makes a bunch of noise and the people seem to get up early. So anyways, we got up and were about to leave our room to go shower but then... we couldn't get the door open. We have 2 doors in the room and we couldn't get either open so we were freaking out trying to open them for about an hour and a half. So we decided we would yell for help and knock on our door so we did and it was super embarrassing. Finally, they heard us and came to the rescue. The couldn't open the doors either they had to jam a knife in the door. We thought we were going to be trapped in there all day. Don't worry the went out and bought new locks and fixed the doors so it's all good. It's really hot here.. soooo humid! We are constantly sweaty... But the wind makes it a bit better. The shower here is interesting.. it squirts out some water when it feels like it haha. After we got ready, we ate breakfast. They gave us 5 pieces of toast, some eggs, oranges and milo (tastes like hot chocolate) and wanted us to eat it all.. it was a struggle and we couldn't do it. Then we sat on the deck for a bit observing ghana life. There's a wedding ceremony right across the street. Later today we are going to do a bit of sight seeing and we are staying here one more night because we need to pick up the bags that we lost from the airport that don't get here till tonight. Soo we will be heading to the orphanage tomorrow morning, they are expecting our arrival. :)
